If there was one time to strike, this is it

19 Sep 2019 If there was one time to strike, this is it

Inspired by a household name Greta Thunberg, and the youngest hero I've ever had. The “climate-strike” is a growing movement organised by mostly school children walking out of school for a few hours to demand positive and direct action on climate change.

In May, 1.4 million kids from all around the world marched, asking adults to join them. The chance to join them is 20 September, the largest action on climate ever, so big that some companies are shutting down in support of the kids.

We don’t need to go on about why it’s gotten to this, I think we all know that. Let’s just say that we can’t just throw our hands in the air and say that politicians are paid to fix it because they just aren’t doing anywhere near enough.

The fact of the matter is that while our political leaders have failed us and appear to have little interest in doing anything. They still want our votes.

If they don’t get it they will when they see millions of people on the streets, united all around the world.

If you needed something to lift you, this will surely help. People seem tired of the state of things and stressing about their role in improving it. Working out your footprint and how to reduce it on so many levels can do your head in. Measuring your footprint may be a sobering experience and while you cannot measure your impact in standing united with millions of others. Supporting children, this cause, and being inspired by kids, the next generation of people to care deeply about the planet that we ALL rely on is something you just cannot measure.

Its a strike for change, but is it also the strike that we all need?
